In 2018 I bought a needle art supply and custom picture framing shop (in Winnipeg, Canada) having never done either of those things. It was my mom’s favourite store (she loves cross stitch) and it had closed when the owner retired without being able to find a buyer. That made my mom sad, and you can’t have a sad mom, so I bought the store. Prior to that I had been working from home doing computer repair, website design, digital signage training, and voice over work. I also was involved in theatre (musical and other) as a producer, director, and performer. In my spare time I write screenplays.
It has been a sharp learning curve but since I was learning about needle arts at a full time pace I have learned a lot since I started, and picked up an awesome hobby that I love. I don’t know everything and that’s where this blog comes in. I love to learn things and figured I would share the knowledge I pick up along the way. I owe a lot to so many kind customers who have shared their knowledge with me over the years. Learning from each other seems the most fun way to learn things.
Mostly this blog will be about needle/fibre art stuff, but I will also share some things about framing as well as my other interests.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy stitching!
