It’s back… prepare for fun, fellowship, and stitching….
Our April retreat was so much fun! We raised some money for the furnace/reno fund and got to know new people. And there were great prizes which turned out to be a very popular part of the event.
It was so much fun that we’re going to do it again. You can come in person or join us via Zoom. The two workshops will be educational and fun.
What kind of a fundraiser would it be without a silent auction and a 50/50 draw? We don’t know, but we will have both. You can buy tickets even if you aren’t coming and they will be entered for the draws.
When: Saturday, November 4, 2023. 9am – 5pm CST
Where: St. Mary’s Road United Church, 613 St. Mary’s Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba – right across the street from the shop.
Or via Zoom: you can join via Zoom and watch the retreat, talk with the other Zoom participants, and join in on the workshops.
What: A day-long retreat where we can stitch, chat, and learn things.
Price: $78.50 for the in-person retreat. $43.50 for the Zoom retreat. Support tickets, for if you can’t attend but would like to support the fundraiser are $20.
There will be two workshops during the day:
Kathryn Drummond (Gingerbread Girl Designs) will be teaching how to make a scissor fob and needlebook. The pattern, designed by her for this event, is included and we’ll upload an image of it as soon as it’s available.
Barbara Best – that’s me (Lizzy B’s) will be teaching how to flat-fold finish a small stitching project.
The shop will be open if you need to run across the street for supplies.
Schedule:
9am – Welcome & start stitching
10am – Workshop
12pm – Lunch (see below)
1pm – Back from lunch – stitching time
2pm – Workshop
5pm – Time to pack up and go home to try the things you learned.
We didn’t include lunch in the cost to keep the costs lower. Some people have talked about doing a pot luck for lunch. There is a kitchen for storage and re-heating. If you’re interested let us know and we’ll send you the link to the online sign up. There are also restaurants fairly close by or the option of ordering something in.
